| Bio: | In my younger and more formative years, I was an outcast. My heliocentric theory of planetary motion was not accepted by the mullet and Camaro based culture of my then hometown of Miamisburg, Ohio. Later I found myself attending high school in Carlisle, Ohio after we moved. It was around that time that I learned the importance of hard work and how much it sucked as I found employment with a franchisee of the Independant Grocers' Alliance (IGA). A supermarket, to put it succinctly. It was there that I met Seth, who, in a prior life, invented a substitute for Teflon. He taught me the importance of being cynical and introduced me to the form of creative, freeform writing and expression that you have all come to enjoy here on my weblog. Later, I left the IGA for a position selling crappy souvenirs at a local amusement park. The pay was poor, and as it was seasonal, I nearly starved to death my first year at college. Fortunately, I was living at home, so my parents fed me, but still, I had no spending money for quite a spell. I returned to the amusement park, this time as a sound technician, maintaining the repeating recordings on the rides and the background speakers. It was here that I learned the delciate arts of moving through large crowds at high speeds and hiding from my three bosses with conflicting objectives. The next season I switched to the train mid-summer, where, as a train engineer and ride mechanic, I learned that nothing washes out flange lubricant. Finally, I graduated from college, and landed a job at a software upstart just as it was being swallowed by a huge, monolithic corporation.
